New Orleans Mission Trip a Success
On Sunday, June 1, the mission team from St. John’s arrived safely at home after a wonderfully successful trip to New Orleans. Fr. Mike; Eric, Holly, Andrea, and Nick Feezor; Jamie and Jesse Arbogast; and Gene Schwein, accompanied by five members of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in McPherson spent the week at Free Church of the Annunciation (Episcopal) in the Broadmoor section of N.O.

The team worked hard scraping and painting a house for an elderly woman who had been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. But the trip was not simply about meeting physical needs. “Mission isn’t about painting houses,” said Fr. Mike. “It’s about expressing the love of Christ through service to others. We were blessed to be able to put into practice the example set by our Lord.” Fr. Mike noted that the residents of N.O. were more appreciative of the fact that they had not been forgotten than for the actual work that was done.
Announcement:
Welcome Joshua Timothy
Fr. Mike and Bonnie are proud to announce the arrival of Joshua Timothy Bridge. Joshua was born July 2 at 4:34 PM. He weighed a whopping 8 lbs 7 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long. Joshua is now home with his family, including proud big brother Mickey.

We are overjoyed with this addition to the church community.
